Yvette Redmond

Born in Thailand, raised in London, Yvette Redmond has established a long career in the Fashion industry. She was scouted by Storm Models while in her first year at Kings College London where she was studying for her Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Management Science.

After graduating in 1992, she spent the next seven years travelling the world as a model, and part time tv presenter (in both English and Dutch) while also spending brief stints as a photographers assistant, a production runner, a professional dancer and a featured extra in the film Blade! Being based in cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Miami and Los Angeles not only helped her to cultivate her language skills, it also exposed her to the entire spectrum of the fashion and beauty industry which over the years ignited her passion for make-up before she moved behind the camera to start working as a make-up artist in 1999.

A combination of her background as a model working in all areas across photography, film and television and video, together with a keen awareness for different types of lighting and photography technology has helped her to hone her own unique but versatile make-up style. An intuitive style that focuses on simple, elegant and flawless beauty that combines with her ability to understand and adapt to the various needs of her diverse range of international clients and photographers to make her a valuable member of any shooting team.

A growing belief that external beauty is not only enhanced, but maintained by internal health and nurturing led to further study and in 2005 she graduated with distinction from the Clifton International College of Health and Beauty with an ITEC diploma in Holistic Massage. Merging her knowledge as an holistic therapist with her passion for make-up and beauty led her to author Teach Yourself Beauty – a guide to looking gorgeous, offering tips on diet, exercise, skin care, relaxation, and lifelong body care. In which she also shares all her secrets about the artful use of cosmetics for all ages and every occasion. This was published by Hodder Education in 2006

In between shooting a wide variety of fashion, beauty and commercial work, Yvette also works regularly with an A list clientele on press junkets, promotional work and music videos. She has also successfully managed to fuse her past with her present by doing press events, public appearances and brand spokesperson work and has also appeared as a make-up expert on many television programmes including GMTV, BBC’s The Secret of the Sexes & Channel 4’s The Salon & Big Brothers Little Brother.

Yvette is currently based in London, but would one day love to live near a quiet beach in Ibiza. When she’s not organizing things, or making things she has a passion for food, dancing and learning. Having recently qualified as an NLP practitioner she is currently learning to speak German.
